Field Trip – April 20 Lunch on the Lawn

WHAT: Birding on private property (up to 80 acres)

DATE: Saturday, April 20, 2019

TIME: Coffee and donuts at 9:30 on the patio, followed by birding with Peg or
on your own. BYO brown bag lunch on the patio when we’re done birding.

LOCATION: Lady Lake.  You will receive the address when you register.

DETAILS: Tom Hanson will be our host for this Lunch on the Lawn series. Tom is an experienced birder who previously conducted bird surveys at Emeralda Marsh. He owns an 80-acre property in Lady Lake that includes an orange grove, open fields, two lakes, trees and landscaping “for the birds.” Through our trip organizer, Peg Lindsay, Tom has agreed to host a limited number of birders at his “Old Florida” home and grounds.

Coffee and donuts will be served from 9:00 to 9:30, followed by birding with Peg or on your own. The walking will be easy, at your own pace, and at a comfortable distance. Bring your own brown-bag lunch and enjoy it on the patio following birding.

With such varied habitats on this property, and at the height of spring migration, there is potential to see a lot of species, including warblers, vireos, buntings, and many of the familiar waterbirds.

Pre-Registration: Tom wants to limit the number of folks for this event to a reasonable number, so pre-registration is required.

Cost: $10 member / $15 non-member donation is suggested to offset OVAS administrative costs.

DONATION: Suggested donation amounts of $10/members or $15/non-members above costs such as entry or guide fees, included lunches, or “rides” etc. are included in the payment options below so you can conveniently include them on your pre-registration credit card payment. Children are usually free.
